The Oatmeal Stout is back on tap tomorrow! We are calling it "McShane's Oatmeal Stout"

J. J. McShane came over from Ireland to help build the great embankment which turned out to be a big engineering challenge. The goal was to build a 70 foot high embankment on top of Irondequoit Creek for the distance of a mile. Think quicksand. More can be read on the Perinton Historical Society's web page. Nice video at Low Bridge Productions. Many locals were re-introduced to the Great Embankment when it flooded into Bushnell's Basin and destroyed many homes in 1974 as DPW crews attempted to tunnel a sewer under the canal. McShane's oatmeal stout, like the canal, is neither one dimensional nor overwhelming so come on in and try it. Let us know what you think!
